Reaching Harpers Ferry

by Ashli

We have reached Harpers Ferry! The historic town is known as the half way point between springer mountain and Katahdin.

On the way, we hit mile markers 900 and 1000. We were lucky to hit mile 900 while hiking with Andrew, who has taken the trail name Sugar Daddy.

Mile 1000 was reached 7 days later at 6am.

The same day we hit 1000 miles, we finally crossed out of Virginia after spending over a month in the state that has over 500 miles of trail in it.

We are now hiking 20 mile days regularly, and our packs are getting lighter and lighter as we try to push our miles.

Now that we are close to our home state of Pennsylvania we are planning a few days off to see friends and family before making the final push to Maine.
