Osprey built the Mutant 38 around a streamlined 210D and 420D nylon construction with a removable Atilon sheet lamination and HDPE top stay that balance structure and load management without adding unnecessary weight to a light-and-fast mission.

The 3-point haul system distributes the pack's weight evenly across three anchor points when you clip off on a multi-pitch route, keeping the load stable whether it is being hauled up a pitch or left hanging at a belay station.
